Hmmm....let's see

Well I shop a month at a time, so in a week, I'll have enough food for a month. If power were out, it'd probably be about 3 weeks worth. Currently, though, maybe only a week?

Good luck. You wouldn't last nearly that long with all the folks out there trying to get into your house and take all your stuff.
You would need a gun to survive that long.

Interesting question

But my answer is similar to kittens I would be able to survive for atleast a month with what I have right now...I also try to grow my own food which would help a bit.

Atula, if you can grow your own

you can survive indefinitely.. but erm.. in a case of national disaster you wouldn't be doing this. If you are trapped in your house, right now this minute, and with no chance of getting out for a long time, how long could you last?

i am asking because

i am the sort of person that likes to be prepared, and i tend to shop for staples in bulk.Right now if locked in my house, i would have enough basic stuff like like rice, pasta, tinned goods, (especially tinned fish which is high in protein and preserves for years) candles, batteries, bottled water etc to last me several months without having to venture outside..

How much to convert so solar power for your house?

I live in New Jersey and I was wondering how much it costs to convert your home to solar with the panels and all being installed on the roof of your home and all the electrical hookups needed in the home.
Please advise.

Money from the electric company?

Someone who has solar power at his house was telling me he gets so much money a year from his electric company for creating BTUs or whatever with his solar power.
He said he makes like $2,000 a year doing this.
Is something like this true?

A month...

I think I could still survive a month with the stock i have...but this is sounding like such a serious question now, imagine something like that happening...i would be concerned about my friends family too who will have to tackle with the problem and may not have that much food...

it is a serious question..

you must remember that in this sort of emergency you will not be able to communicate with your friends and family, so therefore they will have to fend for themselves and you will need to forget about them.

Are you ruthless enough to be a survivor?
