I do plan a vacation keeping in mind the general weather of the area i am going to but not is such detail as to know the solar wind speed and all...Maybe becasue I live in a tropical country and the sun does not really bother me that much...:)

great! thanks for the input
...only if we had some more people here
and by the way, here is some great site about such info... "http://www.spaceweather.com/" i think, where ever one may live on this planet, being precautious is a good thing especially in this appa
but it is always the fair skinned ones who shouldn't be in the sun at all who spend most of their time sunbathing, and usually unprotected. I have an olive meditarranean complexion and tan easily, yet I rarely sit in the sun for more than a half hour and never without suncream. None of my family do either. We KNOW how much damage the sun can do.

Gigantopithecus died of exposure to heat y'know... tis very well of you. tho probably you don't have to worry as much as the old fellow.
that there has been increased sunspot activity for the last few years and we are building up to a major flare... apparently these things come in cycles..
i would like to note that although sun activity levels are quiet benign nowadays, earth is engulfed in a mild solar wind stream which is projected from a coronal hole which means solar radiation is sustained by a concentrated magnetic field and that means as it is summer time in the north hemisphere you people going for sea sun fun thing (or simply sun and fun) better do some moderation. -just an advice...
to hear it! not that i was worried... and who are you calling old???? ;)

awwww i see my words are gone to be really misunderstood here... and believe me i foresaw this outcome just after i published the comment! ...anyways, really i was just referring to the Gigantopithecus thing - and nothing else!
so i hereby would like to appologize for any -altough wrongly taken- grievence given to anybody.
the clue to my reaction is the little wink right at the end... i guess humour is difficult to translate across countries borders and via the internet..
