one of the complaints about those participating in Tea Parties is the carbon tax that Obama wants to implement. How do you feel about this carbon tax?

It's a really bad idea

To make policy based on emotions. A carbon tax is nothing more than taxing stupidity. The problem is that most will happily go along with it.

Until they get their electric bill.

Carbon taxes are great for a short term windfall for the government.

The only thing that will them worthwhile would be using the money to build infrastructure that is solar energy or wind energy based.

This issue shoud be studied MUCH more thoroughly! To allow emotions to direct policies can be very dangerous. Make no mistake, we love our planet as much or more than most, but sometimes emotion clouds the road to logic.

The Emotion of Losing Money...The Logic of Saving the Planet

Scientists of good will all the world over agree that carbon emission is killing the planet. I don't believe that emotions govern the carbon tax idea, it is sound scientific thought. The emotions lie with those who, in one way or another (like the TerraMadreFoundation?)profit from carbon emissions.

Simple: They clean up their pollution, they don't have to pay the tax.

From what we know of the carbon tax as it is planned, it is the polluting companies that will be taxed. These are the companies that have been blowing its toxic smoke all over us for years and greatly increase asthma, bronchitis, and other respiratory diseases. They clean up their pollution, they don't have to pay the tax.

Another Good Thing!

As companies re-tool to become more energy efficient and clean, we will see a much cleaner world and create many more jobs in the new technologies will develop."Industry" has retooled themselves many times to keep up with energy and demand throughout history, and they will do it again, but not without alot of whining about it.
