depot near them? our local recycling centre has opened a section where clothing and textiles can be brought in, that is then passed on to charities for distribution in third world countries..
the charities are happy to come and get the stuff themselves. Especially Oxfam and the Red Cross who need to find so much to take to war torn areas like the Somalian refugee camps.
At some beaches, but are ALWAYS welcome at churches, Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc. We often collect used clothing from our surrounding communities and donate the items the those in need.
I think the possibility was discussed but it was decided that the added step in getting clothing from donors to charitable organizations wasn't a good idea.
We have places like Goodwill where you can donate clothing though. But I don't know of any place around her where they can be recycled to go to third world countries.
you ladies should suggest it to your local municipal councils! If they already have recycling centres in your area, it shouldn't be that hard to add a container to deposit clothing..
Each late summer and fall, coats for adults and children are collected, laundered, and given to those folk who need them, before the first chill breath of winter. Thanks goes to St Vincent DePaul.
