chris1203 asks:Harmful recycling

Do you think that, in our haste to recycle anything and everything, that we might be doing more harm than good? I mean, the process of recycling some of these items could release toxic elements...the recycling process is too new for us to know that yet.

Some new, some well tested.

Great question. Actually there have been studies that show how some recycling methods cause more harm than good. Generally aluminum, glass, and ferrous metals can be recycled indefinitely with virtually no environmental harm. The case is still out for plastics, batteries, etc.
