Four-legged Chicken to be Preserved

Hebron museum in West Bank city of Hebron displays animals with weird physical abnormalities. They will be adding its newest exhibit this week: a four-legged chicken.

The founder of the museum, also known as the “Cave of Caves”, said the unlikely quadruped is already dying because of its condition and it will be euthanized and stuffed by a local pharmacist. “Misuse of hormones led to such abnormality,” said Abdel Kareen Abu Znaid, the pharmacist who will be preserving the chicken.

The bird will be displayed in the cave alongside other unusual creatures, like a two-headed goat. There are other instances of chickens with four legs some which have managed to live for up to 18 months. In 2006 farm owner Mike Brendle discovered another four-legged chicken. “It’s as healthy as the rest” he said. He’s been farming for 30 years and has yet to seen anything like it before.

With more research being done on daily basis there is bound to be more cases like this in the future.
