By 2010, Nissan plans to launch the next generation fuel cell vehicle in Japan and North America. Fuel Cells are powered by oxygen and hydrogen in a fuel tank. The Nissan Green Program 2010 will introduce various technologies to enhance fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions. This includes a three-litre car which boasts being able to travel 60 miles with 3 litres of gas, 100% bioethanol fuel-ready cars, and electric vehicles. Until these new technologies are released in 3-4 years time, Nissan will focus on improving engine efficiency and creating internal combustion engines as the primary power source for vehicles.
