With Mars’ ice caps melting, Juniper developing a second giant red spot, and other changes on planets with no inhabitants (more here), the question arises if this is just a natural cycle of a star (the sun) becoming hotter or is it a direct result of humans having a disregard for the environment for several decades? We may be powerful as humans, but to believe that what we are doing today has a current effect on planets that are so far away, that it takes years for a probe to travel to, may be far reaching. It doesn’t matter if global warming is a threat or not, as long as we are privileged with inhabiting our planet, we need to be good stewards of the planet we are entrusted with. Being environmentally considerate, needs to continue. Even if, as humans, we are not directly responsible for global warming, let alone solar system warming, our eyes have been open to the negative effects we have on our planet. With new research that may prove we have a limited effect on global warming, some may be tempted to becoming lazy regarding planet saving changes that can be made.
As individuals, there is no need to invest time and energy into debating if global warming is a real threat and if humans are to blame. Time and energy should be invested in making changes each day in our daily living habits so we can contribute to preserving and restoring our planet. Actions that will deter future and more real threats should be implemented into everyday life.
There is more on the possibility that global warming is overplayed in the video below.
