Protection from Rising Sea Levels in Britain

Popular concern in Britain is turning to the environmentthe percentage of people in the U.K. who believe the environment to be a top priority has almost quadrupled (from 5% to 19%) in the past two years.

Calling themselves on the front line of climate change, residents of the small town of Happisburgh (pronounced hayesborough) are on a mission to keep themselves from falling into the sea. Perched on a cliff top, the village does seem like it's in a prime spot for erosion, whether sea levels rise or not.

Watch as a front-end loader drops gigantic boulders down the cliff to the beach below, slowly building up a wall. It should last ten years at least, they say. The town has already lost one entire street to erosion.

My question is, are the sea levels really rising or would this have happened anyway?
